The following review written by one of the Software Informer contributors applies to version 3.0
ABC Kid Genius uses sounds, pictures, and video clips to teach children about the alphabet, spelling, numbers, reading, and counting. To use ABC Kid Genius to its full potential, you have to register as a site member, which will entitle you to download extra words for the application's spelling database (currently only 6 words are available), extra stories for reading, and the biggest plus – you can create your own words for the spelling or Flashcard section. This membership will give you one-month access to all the downloadable features, while the application will never expire. I would have expected that becoming a member would at least entitle you to limitless access to the downloadable items!
While the interface is not very sophisticated, the application did work on Windows 7, as promised by the developer, without any errors. The design is not really engaging and while ABC Kid Genius could be used by teachers as an extra medium, the rudimentary design is, in this case, rather a distraction. |
